What is "Resource" documentation?

These are the inital discussions on the concept of resource documentation...

What is the idea of a “Resource” documentation?
(Firstly, is the term resource correct?)

The aim behind this project is to document a society and an art or craft that exists in that society as a part of it. This will include a lot of steps:

• Firstly, going to the location and taking a detailed overview of the place; the geographical location, the weather, the soil, the available resources, crops and food habits, layout of the village and farms, the economic level, transport routes to and from the village, seasons and their effect on the village, lifestyle, clothing, family and trends in the families, education facilities and levels, houses and styles, materials with which people generally work, animal strength and types, the local craft(s), etc.
• Distributing and capturing through various media, all the aspects mentioned in the first point.
• Linking all of this data together to make a system.
• Identify the strong points and the weak points in the existing system.
• Discussing the design intervention possible in the system.
• If possible, implement some measures, consulting the authorities existing in that area.
• Document all of this and present it in the form of a report.
